Alzheimer's society plans brain workshop in Barriere

Tara Hildebrand, support and education coordinator with the Alzheimer's Society of B.C., will present a workshop titled "An Introduction to Brain Health" in Barriere on Thursday, Feb. 10. The workshop will be held at the Volunteer Center at 4936 Barriere Town Road, 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.

Literacy program offers learning opportunities

Thursday, Jan. 17, is Family Literacy Day. This year’s theme is Play for Literacy, and includes all types of play that promote reading, spelling and numeracy. There are many activities your family can do together to encourage new learning opportunities, or sharpen existing skills. Some of these activities are playing a board game or a card game, following a recipe, reading a map, or a physical game that promotes brain development such as a scavenger hunt or “Simon Says.
