It’s been 10 years since Ladysmith has been outrageous. On April 15 at the Aggie Hall, the town will be outrageous again, as the Outrageous Evening Lip Sync Battle will be put on by the Ladysmith Downtown Business Association and the Ladysmith Chamber of Commerce that night.

There are two parts to the evening. Talented lip syncers will be battling to impress the local celebrity judges’ panel, and there will also be a halftime drag show performance by Flannery Pajamas.

“There will also be an array of games for audience members to play for various prizes,” said Brianne Mactier, downtown business association president.

Lip syncing is a routine where performers pretend to be singing a popular song, when they are just moving their lips to the song playing in the background. The performer’s whole body is involved in the performance, not just their mouths.

“It is a lip sync battle featuring local talent from all over town…” Mactier said. “We encourage the public, those over 19, to come see the talent our town has to offer.”

The event is licensed. The local Kinsmen Club will be handling the bar services and Thunderstruck Food Truck will be there serving a tasty array. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Tickets for the Outrageous Evening are $25 per person and can be purchased at the door or online at www.ladysmithcofc.com/product/outrageous-evening-lip-sync-battle/.

All money raised will be used by the two business groups for their continuing work in Ladysmith.
