Ron Wilson shares images he captured this week at the Stewart Creek rest area, located past Ymir toward Nelson.
He says it’s an especially good time to visit because of the spring runoff.
Stewart Creek is a small tributary of the Salmo River.
It originates in the Selkirk Mountains near the peaks of Round Mountain, about two kilometres north of Ymir, the same source as nearby Quartz Creek.
Named in 1930, Stewart Creek runs alongside Highway 6, where a rest area features a small waterfall and picnic spot.
