Friday night, frontline RCMP officers responded to a call about a man reportedly in possession of a gun and knife in a Glenmerry neighbourhood.
Police located the suspect, a 40-year-old Trail man, near the intersection of Lily Street and Highway Drive.
Officers discovered he was carrying a lighter shaped like a gun and a knife.
The man left the area after accepting a ride from police.
Sgt. Mike Wicentowich says officers definitely felt the heat when responding to this type of call.
“The man realized he was playing with fire when he carried such poorly chosen shaped objects," he adds. "In the end, he really only burned himself.”
