Feb. 21, 2025 • The February Forest Fundraiser – A Night of Music and Nature is Friday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. at The Vineyard (45892 Wellington Ave.). The event will help support the Forest Echoes Music Festival, a two-day live summer music fest in Cultus Lake on June 27 and 28. Tickets for the fundraiser start at $25 and are available at forestechoesentertainment.com/event-details/february-forest-fundraiser-2025. This is a 19+ event.
Feb. 21, 2025 • Folks can take in a free presentation on frauds and scams presented by the Chilliwack Learning Society on Feb. 21 at Evergreen Hall. Learn from experts about computer viruses, romance scams, impersonation scams and bitcoin fraud. It runs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.and people can register at chilliwacklearning.com/frauds-scams-presentation or by calling Cari at 604-793-9979.
Feb. 22, 2025 • Youth can learn the basics of crochet, create their own projects, and unleash creativity at 'Intro to Crochet for Teens' at the Chilliwack Library on Saturday, Feb. 22 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. No experience needed. All supplies will be provided. Teens will work on a project to take home. Online registration required. Go to fvrl.bc.ca and click “events” to sign up. For ages 13-18.
Feb. 22, 2025 • In recognition of Heritage Week, join local archivist Tristan Evans for 'Preserving Your Family Treasures' at the Chilliwack Library on Saturday, Feb. 22 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. This presentation will be followed by a Q&A session. This will cover basic methods for storing, cleaning, and preserving photos, documents, and keepsakes to ensure they last for generations to come. This program is in partnership with the Chilliwack Museum and Archives. Drop in.
Feb. 24 and 27, 2025 • Celebrate Freedom to Read week by joining library staff for special storytime featuring some children’s titles that have faced being banned. Titles include: Hop on Pop by Dr. Seuss, And Tango Makes Three by Justin Richardson and Peter Parnell, Fred Gets Dressed by Peter Brown, Donovan’s Big Day by Leslea Newman, Everybunny Dance! By Ellie Sandall, Where the wild things are by Maurice Sendak. Feb. 27 and March 27, 2025 • Trying to get around Chilliwack without a car? New group 'Car-Free Chilliwack' is starting up and they are having two info sessions at the Chilliwack Library: Feb. 27 and March 27 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. each day. For more, email carfreechilliwack@gmail.com.
Feb. 28, 2025 • The Mount Cheam Lions has its monthly spaghetti dinner on Friday, Feb. 28 at the Lions Club (45580 Spadina Ave.). The cost is $10 and includes spaghetti, garlic toast, tea or coffee, and dessert. It goes from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
Feb. 28 to March 2, 2025 • The Fraser Valley Women's Expo runs Feb. 28 to March 1 at Chilliwack Heritage Park. There will be more than 200 booths featuring beauty, fashion, art, food and giveaways. There's also a fashion show and various speakers. Hours are 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Feb. 28, 2025 • Local authors Ray Maher, Frank Talaber and Cynthia Tyndall will be selling and autographing their novels at the upcoming Women's Expo from Feb. 28 to March 2 at Chilliwack Heritage Park.
March 1, 2025 • The Yarrow Community Model Train Swap Meet is Saturday, March 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Yarrow Community Hall (4670 Community Street). There will be 40 tables of items, plus a private N-scale estate sales room. Admission: $5, or $15 per family (two adults and up to three children). March 3, 2025 • The 'Canada Revenue Agency Super Clinic' is at the Chilliwack Library on Monday, March 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. People can get taxes filed, find out more about the benefits, credits, pensions, programs, and services they may be entitled to. Drop in.
March 5 and 18, 2025 • Women can learn how to move forward after the birth of a child at 'Returning to Movement Postpartum.' This workshop focuses on strategies, compassion and knowledge for new mothers returning to physical activity postpartum. Bring a yoga mat if possible. Presented by kinesiology students from UFV. It's at the Sardis Library on Wednesday, March 5 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., and the Chilliwack Library on Tuesday, March 18 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Registration required. March 6, 2025 • The Chilliwack Ostomy Group is having its monthly meeting on Thursday, March 6 at 1:30 p.m. in the Canora Building at the Atchelitz Threshermen's Association site (44146 Luckakuck Way). March 7, 2025 • Angela Sterritt, a journalist, author and motivational speaker, will be in Chilliwack for a talk for International Women’s Day on March 7. Presented by Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce, she will speak about overcoming adversity, breaking stereotypes, and creating change and relationships in Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities. It's at the The'i:tseliya Health Centre (7256 Chilliwack River Rd.) starting at 11:30 a.m. Lunch is at noon, and the keynote speech is at 1 p.m. with a book signing and networking to follow. Cost of early-bird tickets (before 4 p.m. on Feb. 14): $75 for Chamber members, $125 for non-members; tickets after 4 p.m. on Feb. 14 are $100 for Chamber members, $150 for non-members. March 8, 2025 • 'Chronic swelling – Is It Lymphedema?' a health awareness workshop is coming to Chilliwack on Saturday, March 8. Presented by the BC Lymphedema Association, this workshop is for people with chronic swelling (who have not yet been diagnosed), lymphedema patients as well as health care professionals that wish to learn more about lymphedema precautions and treatment. There will be presentations, exhibits and an FAQ session. Pre-registration is required and an admission of $10 includes a light lunch. March 9, 2025 • The Cultus Lake Sailing Club is having its Spring Fundraiser on Sunday, March 9 at the Lakeside Beach Club (4131 Columbia Valley Rd.). Doors open at 5 p.m., and dinner is at 6 p.m. Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children and include dinner and a drink. March 12, 2025 • Baby Playdate is at the Sardis Library on Wednesday, March 12 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. This hands-on event will teach parents/caregivers ways to play with their baby or toddler and encourage early literacy at the same time. Come to play and go away with ideas to try at home. This event is best suited for babies and toddlers aged two and younger with a parent or caregiver. Older siblings are welcome. Drop in, no registration required.
March 21, 2025 • The Multicultural Banquet Without Borders fundraiser by Love Without Borders is Friday, March 21 at 5:30 p.m. at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. It will be an evening of multicultural food and entertainment to celebrate Nowruz, and raise money for the Building Bridges Initiative to build off-the-ground tiny homes for people in need. Tickets are $55 and include dinner and nonalcoholic beverages. Includes silent auction and more. Doors opens at 5:30 p.m. and dinner is at 6 p.m.
April 11, 2025 • Spiderlodge 'Canadiana' is an all-ages evening marking the 20th anniversary of Chilliwack folk-rock group Spiderlodge featuring Lori Paul and Rick Genge. July 5, 2025 • The all-ages Controlled Chaos Music Festival is Saturday, July 5 at the Chilliwack Coliseum starting at 2 p.m. Bands include: Big Duke Sorrow, The Bobby's, Cows Go Moo, Whitey, Tayos, The Unbranded, Strawberry Blondes and The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets. The event also includes: on-site tattooing, food and drinks, a local artist/vendor market, skateboarding ramps and demos, and a kids' zone with games, face painting and more. NOW to Feb. 22, 2025 • Exhibition 'Bats: Out of the Darkness' opened at the Chilliwack Museum on Oct. 31, with bat-related stories, info and photos that make a compelling reminder of how essential bats are to the environment. The museum is at 45820 Spadina Ave. and the exhibition is on until Feb. 22, 2025.
NOW to March 8, 2025 • Artist Josh Henrie has his solo exhibition 'Human/Nature' on display in the gallery at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre from Feb. 5 to March 8. His artwork features beauty of the human form from all backgrounds, and how exquisite birds are. The opening reception is set for Saturday, Feb. 15 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free. Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday.
NOW to March 10, 2025 • Paws 4 Stories returns to the Chilliwack Library (Saturdays) and Sardis Library (Mondays). Reading to a four-legged buddy can help build confidence and increase self-esteem. St. John Ambulance - SJA Child Certified Therapy Dogs are the perfect fit for those needing a friend to read to. Have a book picked out to read to the dog ahead of your 15-minute appointment. NOW to April 8, 2025 • ‘Kids in Control’ is a free eight-week education-and-support program for children aged eight to 12 who have loved ones living with substance use disorder and/or mental illness. It runs from Feb. 4 to April 8. This is a program through the BC Schizophrenia Society and the Chilliwack Youth Health Centre. Registration is required by emailing kic2025winter@gmail.com. NOW to June 2025 • The Chilliwack Rhythm Reelers, a non-profit modern social square dance group, is starting beginner classes on Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. at Atchelitz Hall (6542 Lickman Rd.). Classes take place every Friday from September 2024 to June 2025. The lessons are filled with fun, fitness and friendly people. Having a partner is not necessary. The group is made up of a diverse age range of dancers. Teens are welcome, but they must be accompanied by an adult.

Every Friday evening • Chilliwack Grapplers Wrestling, along with Chilliwack Community Services, is offering free drop-in wrestling for youth every Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Chilliwack Landing Sports Centre on the second floor (45530 Spadina Ave.). The Chilliwack Chess Club meets twice a week where chess aficionados can connect, learn, and engage in friendly matches. It is open to everyone from beginners to grand masters. First Saturday of each month • Very Very Improv Theatre, a professional company based in the Fraser Valley, has monthly performances at CoWork Chilliwack. Scott Campbell is leading a company of talented improvisers from across the Lower Mainland including Chilliwack-based comedian Cliff Prang.
