June 6, 2025 • The Anonymous Art Show returns to Chilliwack on June 6 at Cornerstone Custom Picture Framing and Gallery (9369 Mill St.) and other locations. Hosted by the Chilliwack Community Arts Council, it will showcase a collection of 150-plus pieces of artwork, each created by artists who remain anonymous until their piece is sold. The work will be on display from June 6 to June 15 with the "buying night" fundraiser event taking place from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, June 6 at Cornerstone. Tickets to the fundraiser are $20. June 7, 2025 • The 27th annual Gwynne Vaughan Park Plant Sale is Saturday, June 7 at the park on Hope River Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be more than 30 vendors selling plants and other items, plus there will be artisan booths, food, a silent auction, and live music. June 7, 2025 • Watson Elementary PAC is hosting a bike swap on June 7 from 10 a.m. to noon at the school (45305 Watson Rd.). Bike drop-off for donations or consigned is 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Bikes of all sizes, lights, child carriers and other accessories are welcome. Those who donate a bike will receive a $10 coupon towards a new bike at the sale. There will also be free air for tires, grease for chains and growth adjustments for bikes. June 7, 2025 • Local charity A Voice of Hope For Kenya (Hungry For Life International) is having a huge garage sale on Saturday, June 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. to raise money for widows and orphans in Kenya. It runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Westeringh’s barn (7350 Barrow Rd.). Items include: household goods, toys, gardening and other tools, sports equipment, furniture, etc. This is a country market-style garage sale with coffee, stroop waffles, cinnamon buns, hot dogs, chips and cold drinks sold throughout the day.
June 7, 2025 • The City of Chilliwack's spring Shred-A-Thon and Food Drive is Saturday, June 7 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the Chilliwack Coliseum. June 7 and 8, 2025 • The 67th annual War Canoe Races take place at Main Beach in Cultus Lake on June 7 and 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. In addition to the Indigenous canoe races, there will be a vibrant cultural showcase and a variety of food and craft vendors.
June 7, 2025 • The YMCA and ParticipACTION are encouraging folks to get active and head to the YMCA's free open house on Saturday, June 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Bob Chan-Kent Family YMCA (45844 Hocking Ave.) There will be activities and programming for the whole family, plus snacks and prizes. June 8, 2025 • The Fraser Valley Classic Car Show is Sunday, June 8 at the UFV Chilliwack campus (corner of Caen Avenue and Dieppe Street). This fundraiser event will support the Chilliwack General Hospital via the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation. June 9 and 23, 2025 • Pride Film Club: Celebrating LGBTQ+ Stories on Screen is at the Chilliwack Library on Monday, June 9 ("Any Other Way: The Jackie Shane Story") and June 23 ("A Mother Apart") from 5:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. After the screening, stay for a casual, respectful discussion to reflect on the themes, characters, and real-world connections brought to life on screen. This is for members and allies of the LGBTQ+ community. For ages 19 and older. This is a drop-in event.
June 10, 2025 • Come and celebrate the 100th anniversary of the United Church of Canada on Tuesday, June 10 at 2 p.m. at Carman United Church. This day is the date the United Church of Canada was formed in 1925 with the merger of the Methodist, Presbyterian and Congregational churches. Folks will gather at the bell tower where the church bell will be rung 100 times by church members. A short program will also be held, and a centennial cake will be cut and shared along with coffee and tea. Everyone is welcome.
June 12, 2025 • The Fraser Valley Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI) Association is having its last meeting of the season on Thursday, June 12 at 11:30 a.m. at the Chilliwack-Vedder Legion Branch 295 (5661 Vedder Rd.). June 14, 2025 • The 18th annual Lions Cultus Lake Fishing Derby is at Main Beach on Saturday, June 14 from 5 a.m. to noon. The event focuses on reducing the numbers of northern pikeminnow and invasive smallmouth bass which prey on the young Cultus Lake sockeye salmon. Registration runs until 11 a.m. Tickets are $3 for kids and $7 for adults, and are available at Fred’s Custom Tackle, or the Main Beach concession.
June 14 and 16, 2025 • Join BC Cancer for an informative presentation on cancer prevention and screening education on Saturday, June 14 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Chilliwack Library, and on Monday, June 16 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Sardis Library. Folks will learn about BC Cancer's screening services, eligibility requirements, and have the opportunity to ask questions. At the end of the program, BC Cancer will help people book their own screening appointment. This is a drop-in event.
June 17, 2025 • The Rooted Waters and Cultural Showcase event on June 17 at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre is in recognition of National Indigenous Peoples Day. It begins with a free Indigenous vendor marketplace, featuring food, artisan crafts, cultural treasures from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Then from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., there will be a ticketed event with a film and a live performance. From 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., the evening gathering will continue with more free cultural offerings. There will be traditional wood carving and live art, Indigenous and local food trucks, and more.
June 17, 2025 • It's STEAM Tween Tuesday – Fruit Forensics at the Chilliwack Library on Tuesday, June 17 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. This monthly meetup is for tweens in Grades 4 to 7. All materials supplied. This month, participants will learn how to extract DNA from strawberries and bananas and view their results through a microscope. Kids can also make a human DNA beaded bracelet to take home. Online registration required.
June 19 and 23, 2025 • People can watch the science of butterfly metamorphosis at the Butterfly Release Storytime event on Thursday, June 19 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Chilliwack Library, or on Monday, June 23 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sardis Library. The caterpillars (larvae) arrived at the Chilliwack and Sardis libraries at the end of May. Join library staff for a story, craft, and to release the butterflies into the wild. Weather permitting.
June 19, 2025 • Join Chilliwack Library staff for a special screening in honour of National Indigenous Peoples Day on Thursday, June 19 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The film will be Inkwo for When the Starving Return. This 18-minute stop-motion animated film is based on the world of celebrated author Richard Van Camp. The story follows Dove, a gender-shifting warrior who draws on the power of their Indigenous medicine, Inkwo, to defend their community against an unburied swarm of terrifying creatures. A guided discussion will follow the screening, with light refreshments provided. Please note: this film contains some intense and potentially frightening scenes and may not be suitable for all audiences. For ages 19 and older. This is a drop-in event.
June 20, 2025 • Ukrainian documentary 'Life to the Limit' will be screened at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on Friday, June 20. There will also be a Ukrainian art exhibition on display that night. The film is about the lives of two Kyiv filmmakers who left their Oscar-nominated film to volunteer on Ukraine’s eastern front. Using their own footage and stories, the film shows the human cost of war and the strength that rises from tragedy. June 21, 2025 • The self-guided Rotary Garden Tour returns on Saturday, June 21. June 27 and 28, 2025 • The all-ages Forest Echoes Music Festival returns on June 27 and 28 at a private, 20-acre property in Cultus Lake. It features 13 bands playing everything from high-energy funk and punk to indie rock and soulful music. There will also be local vendors, food, and artisan goods. The event showcases new and improved designated bike routes in Chilliwack. It's free to register and participants have a chance to win prizes. NOW to June 21, 2025 • The Chilliwack Visual Artists Association presents exhibition Modern Mythology, a solo show by Kayla Neufeld Gowans of Agassiz, at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre from May 21 to June 21. Opening reception is set for Saturday, May 24 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
NOW to June 2025 • The Chilliwack Rhythm Reelers, a non-profit modern social square dance group, is starting beginner classes on Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. at Atchelitz Hall (6542 Lickman Rd.). Classes take place every Friday from September 2024 to June 2025. The lessons are filled with fun, fitness and friendly people. Having a partner is not necessary. The group is made up of a diverse age range of dancers. Teens are welcome, but they must be accompanied by an adult.
NOW to August, 2025 • The Chilliwack Crusaders Rugby Club is launching a free U18 youth program for boys and girls. NOW to Aug. 31, 2025 • Sts'ailes carver Lek'hoosh Arnie Leon has his work on display in The Mystical Eagle Carving Exhibit in the lobby of the Chilliwack Cultural Centre (9201 Courbold St.). The show will feature his wood carvings as well as Noelani Leon's painting and drawings, totalling 45 pieces on display. The exhibit goes until Aug. 31.
NOW to Oct. 4, 2025 • The Downtown Chilliwack Community Market returns to Chilliwack on Saturday, May 24. This year the market will be at a new location – Central Community Park – and will run every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. until Oct. 4.
NOW to Oct. 7, 2025 • Ready to shop local? Market at the Coliseum starts up again on Tuesday, June 3 and runs every Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. until Oct. 7. The market features local growers, artisans, food and music, and is located at the corner of Hodgins Avenue and Ashwell Road (in the parking lot of the Chilliwack Coliseum). Scott Campbell is leading a company of talented improvisers from across the Lower Mainland including Chilliwack-based comedian Cliff Prang. Second Thursday of each month • The Fraser Valley Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry Association is actively searching for serving, non-serving, family members or any other personnel who have served in any function with the Patricias to join them every second Thursday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at the Chilliwack-Vedder Legion Branch 295 (5661 Vedder Rd.). Last Friday of every month • NOTE: There will be no spaghetti dinner for the months of May to August, 2025; this event will resume in September. The Mount Cheam Lions hosts a spaghetti dinner on the last Friday of every month at the Lions Club (45580 Spadina Ave.). The cost is $10 and includes spaghetti, garlic toast, tea or coffee, and dessert. It goes from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Gam-Anon family groups • Is someone else's gambling affecting your life? Gam-Anon can help. They offer hope and help when a loved one has a gambling problem. Family and friends are welcomed whether or not the gambler seeks help or even recognizes the existence of a gambling problem.
