(L-R) James French won a Silver Medal, Matheus Loureio went a perfect 3-0 en route to Gold and Kierra Cates captured a Silver and a Bronze medal in her first competition at the Blue Belt rank.

Castlegar's Confluence Jiu Jitsu captured the top spot in the team rankings of the All vs All Ultra event in Burnaby on Nov. 30.

Just ten competitors from the Castlegar club combined for over 60 matches on the day against opponents from all over the province. At the end of a 10-hour day Team Confluence brought home nine gold, seven silver, and three bronze medals, and best of all, the coveted first place Adult Team Trophy.

Other highlights included Chelsea Norman and Kierra Cates winning their respective Pro Division championships, leading to the pair both being ranked number one by the AVA Online rankings in their respective weight classes, and Irie Anderson submitting the number three ranked pro male athlete.

The AVA Event capped off the 2024 season for the club with great results in Kelowna, Creston, and Vancouver tournaments, as the team now readies for new challenges in 2025.
