Regarding dogs on Willows, I am not qualified to comment on the bird death concern. However, off-leash dogs approach strangers indiscriminately.

I have nothing against dogs, but I am not interested in interacting with them, having them sniff at my food, shake off water or kick up sand at me. The high season means a lot more people are on the beach, and the assumption by dog owners that everyone wants to interact with your dog is erroneous.

Most dogs are not well-trained on that beach, in my experience, to respond to their owners' commands.
