Vegetation management conducted by BC Hydro will have Highway 97 north of Quesnel reduced to single-lane alternating traffic for the duration of July.

The project, taking place on the highway between Umiti Pit Road and Hush Lake Road started on Thursday, July 3 and is expected to be completed on July 30.

Single-lane alternating traffic will be happening daily from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Minor delays up to 15 minutes are expected in both directions.

DriveBC is asking motorists to please watch for signage and personnel on scene.

The area in which the work is being done is 20 kilometres north of Quesnel.

This work is in addition to construction work that has been taking place on Highway 97 southbound 13 kilometres north of Quesnel since early May. Between Pollard Road and Umiti Pit Road, a lane remains closed and will be until late September.
