The L.V. Rogers Grizzlies gathered on June 10 to celebrate their Athletic Awards banquet, marking the culmination of three impressive seasons of competition across fall, winter, and spring sports.
This year’s Grizzlies demonstrated exceptional skill and determination, achieving notable success at the provincial level. Some highlights include the senior girls soccer team securing a remarkable second-place finish, the senior boys soccer team finishing seventh and the speedy Dawson Abraham placing fourth place in the junior boys’ cross-country provincials.
The evening’s major honours recognized athletes who stood out for their dedication and performance.
The Outstanding Athlete award, recognizing excellence in a single sport, were presented to Cristobal Jacob Pares (soccer), Rylie Clark (soccer), and Georgia Shuel (volleyball).
Celebrating success, leadership and skill across multiple sports, the All-Around Athlete awards went to Paityn Lake, who excelled in soccer, basketball, and volleyball, and Lanz Gonzales, a standout in both volleyball and basketball.
Academic achievement was also celebrated alongside athletic excellence, with the Top Scholar-Athlete awards presented to Noah Jury (soccer) and Kallie Badry (swimming). Both athletes distinguished themselves by competing at high levels in their respective sports while maintaining an impressive 4.0 GPA.
The Grizzly award celebrates players who shine in their specific sport, are dedicated, coachable, supportive teammates and positive role models for our school community. This year’s Grizzly Award recipients include:
