The new signage makes it crystal clear that cosmetics giant Sephora is “coming soon” to the Cottonwood Centre in Chilliwack.
“Cottonwood Centre proudly confirms the rumours are true: Sephora is set to open its latest retail store at the centre,” according to the mall management release of March 15.
The new tenant is expected to open in the mall by fall 2024.
“It underscores our commitment to revitalizing Cottonwood Centre and delivering a dynamic shopping destination that caters to the diverse needs and preferences of our customers,” said Mark Davis, general manager at Cottonwood Centre.
“We are confident that Sephora’s presence will enhance the overall experience for our shoppers and contribute to the continued success of Cottonwood Centre.”
They’ve been working on cementing relationships with a number of prospective new tenants.
“Through strategic collaborations with industry front-runners such as Sephora, we are further elevating Chilliwack’s retail scene, providing our patrons with access to the newest trends and a broader selection of shopping choices,” said Jared Stern, director, Investments from PCI. “We look forward to revealing several other prominent retailers joining us in the near future.”
It was reported in December 2023 by The Chilliwack Progress that Sephora would be joining the Cottonwood family, along with the relocated BC Liquor Store, based on the online leasing brochure from Warrington PCI Management. But the lease agreement had not been formally signed at that point.
The older brochure floor plan showed Sephora set to take over a 3,950 square-foot space, near the Save-On-Foods, and it was framed in red as part of the mall’s “spring 2024 re-development” plans.
Since PCI Developments and Warrington PCI Management took ownership and management of Cottonwood Centre in recent years, the mall has undergone dramatic changes, with a new Save-on-Foods location along with other “first-to-market” experiences such as Club 16, and Old Navy.
“Beyond enhancing the tenant mix and overall shopping experience, Cottonwood Centre is also committed to environmental stewardship, proudly achieving BOMA BEST Gold certification as a testament to our efforts in reducing our environmental impact,” Davis said.
The food court was closed last year to facilitate the changes coming with the mall redevelopment.
