It will be smooth sailing through Sicamous over the May Long weekend as the Bruhn Bridge will remain open for the duration.
To accommodate the expected influx of traffic for the holiday, bridge work will stop at 12 p.m. on Friday, May 16 until 12 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, eliminating the daytime closure and single-lane alternating traffic overnight.
With the warmer weather the Shuswap is experiencing, the district provided an updated schedule for pedestrian access to the Beach Park from Finlayson Street.
From Monday to Friday, access is only available overnight from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., but is open all day on weekends. Over May Long, it will have the same open hours as the bridge.
"Please note that if critical work must be performed on weekends, flaggers will be positioned to temporarily hold access," the notice on the district website stated.
