The reconstruction of Enderby's Granville Avenue, west of the highway, is expected to be completed by September 2025.

Granville Avenue is the latest road in Enderby slated for extensive work, and the project is expected to be completed no later than mid-September.

The renewal of Granville Avenue west of George Street (Highway 97A) is the top 2025 budgeted project listed in the city's financial summary. It is budgeted at just over $1.4 million, to be funded through a combination of reserves, community works funds and existing annual contributions from taxation to asset management, according to minutes from a February council meeting.

The city issued a request for proposals (RFP) seeking a contractor for the project on April 23.

According to the RFP, the project involves the reconstruction of 175 metres of road, including curbs, gutters and sidewalk; replacement of 170 metres of sanitary sewer and 14 services; 175 metres of new storm sewer with work on eight services and catch basins; and replacement of 170 metres of water main and 14 services.

The RFP states that the work is to be completed no later than Sept. 12 for a maximum work period of 13 weeks.

The RFP is open on BC Bid until 2 p.m. May 9.

The city may negotiate additional work with the successful contractor if satisfied with the work.
