UPDATE: Sunday, Oct. 20: Highway 1 between Revelstoke and Golden is now clear. All lanes are available in both directions.
ORIGINAL: The Trans-Canada Highway is closed in both directions between Revelstoke and Golden due to a motor-vehicle collision.
Just after 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, DriveBC posted the closure between Alpine Lake East and Golden Donald Upper Road for a 143.6-kilometre stretch of Highway 1 at Rogers Pass, with no detour available.
An assessment is in progress, but the road is expected to be closed for several hours. The next update will be at 8 p.m. on drivebc.ca.
