Chilliwack-Hope MP Mark Strahl is encouraging residents of his riding to enter the Chilliwack-Hope Celebrates Canada Day contest for the chance to win a Canadian flag.

"I encourage residents to show how they are celebrating Canada Day—whether that’s by displaying the flag poster in a window or on a door, wearing their Canada gear, or taking photos of their Canada Day celebrations,” Strahl said. "Every household in Chilliwack-Hope will be receiving a flyer in the mail, which includes a Canadian flag poster."

Until July 8 residents are being asked to post photos of their Canada Day celebrations, on either Facebook or Instagram, and tagging Strahl with the @markstrahlmp tag. Ten winners will be chosen at random and gifted with a 3 inch by 6 inch Canadian flag.

For residents who don't use social media, they can instead email the photos to mark.strahl@parl.gc.ca and Strahl will post them on his social media pages.

This year's Canada Day celebrations on July 1 promises to be a grand affair in each of the Chilliwack-Hope communities, complete with fun and exciting events, face-painting, good food, and plenty of live music. Some of the events scheduled include the car show in Memorial Park in Hope, and the Drone Show at the Exhibition Field in Chilliwack.
