A break-in occurred at the Hope Volunteer Search and Rescue building on June 15, 2025.

The Hope Volunteer Search and Rescue is still missing a tablet after a break-in on June 15.

Hope RCMP were on scene, at around 12:20 a.m. after someone had smashed the window of the search and rescue building. Several items, later identified as two laptops and two tablets, were stolen during the break-in.

RCMP said they quickly identified a person of interest and a majority of the stolen property has been returned. Despite this, the search and rescue said it's still missing an item.

"Two laptops and one tablet have been returned," said Tanya MacNeish via social media. "There is still one tablet missing, if anyone comes across it please let us know."

The RCMP are still investigating the incident.
