Forest Echoes festival celebrates music, nature in heart of Cultus Lake

Two-day summer music festival a place for folks to gather, dance, unwind in the forest

An all-ages, nature-themed music festival will be back at Cultus Lake at the end of the month.

Forest Echoes Music Festival returns on June 27 and 28, and organizer Ben Thorne said it's all about connection to the land, to each other, and to the music.

"Forest Echoes is a grassroots music festival that brings people together through live music, nature, and community. We’ve put together a diverse and dynamic lineup of local talent, with everything from high-energy funk and punk to indie rock and soulful singer-songwriters," he said.

Born from a love of live performance and a do-it-yourself spirit, the festival highlights local artists and offers a relaxed, intimate setting for folks to gather, dance, and unwind in the forest.

It takes place at Forest Echoes Cabins where people can camp overnight in tents on the 20-acre private property.

It is set against "one of the most beautiful backdrops in the Fraser Valley," Thorne added.

This year's music lineup includes: Uncle Strut, The History of Gunpowder, Goldsauce, Hot Spell, Day of the Dog, Sweet Fanny Adams, Like Bears, Gorman, High Def Chicks, Alison May, Big Deal Gord, Amber A' Blaze, and Pesky Front.

The two-day event also features local vendors, food, and artisan goods.

People can either buy a day pass, or a full weekend pass. There's discounted admission for youth. Prices range from $60 to $180.
