Clearwater Chamber of Commerce praises businesses in the valley

Clearwater and District Chamber of Commerce is seeking support in the valley says vice president Cheryl Thomas.

Dear businesses in the North Thompson Valley:

This is a week to recognize the many and varied small businesses that make up the fabric of this community.  We, the newly formed board of the Clearwater and District Chamber of Commerce, sincerely want to thank you for setting up your business in the valley.

As more and more businesses join the chambers in Clearwater, we will be able to do more and more projects. Currently we've needed to postpone the annual Small Business Awards event as the North Thompson River ‘blue’ bridge is closed. We are short some directors, and for those of us on the board, we are also busy folks and some new to the area - these are 'busy times' so, please just step forward and offer to help us get re-established as the ‘Voice of Business’ when you see a need in your area of business in the North Thompson Valley.

We recently managed to get the local ‘all candidates forum’ live-streamed through working together with the Barriere Chamber of Commerce in partnership.  I hope all of you who were able to view this were able to get some clarity on some of the issues presented.

In spite of a few setbacks, we are re-grouping with all sort of new voices stepping forward.  This introduces new and exciting possibilities for the future for all members.

One I feel strongly about, that would be an asset to all sorts of local businesses would be the development of a coupon book - anyone can 'buy in' with their offer and when they are printed, we can support the chamber by buying a booklet for ourselves or our friends and neighbours. I want to give credit to Flo at Mystic Dreams in Clearwater for this excellent suggestion and look forward to working with her (and yourselves) towards the development of this product. Stop in at the shop and chat with Flo, send me a private message on Facebook - we are 'in this' together.

The chambers in the North Thompson are optimistic about the future - about working hand in hand with local businesses to make this coming year a 'year to remember' in the valley.

Sincerely,

Cheryl Thomas, vice president of the Clearwater and District Chamber of Commerce
