The City of Trail advises the public that construction is underway at the Trail Memorial Centre, prompting several temporary closures and changes to facility access.
The Cominco Arena concourse — the popular walking circuit located above the ice — is now closed to the public for safety reasons.
In addition, the rear parking lot is closed, as contractors require the space for equipment and materials.
There will be no through access to the front of the building during this time.
The city further reports that no ice surface will be available throughout the project, impacting all ice users through August, September, and into early October.
Despite these disruptions, the Smoke Eaters office and store remains open.
The city notes that the office is accessible Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
