The Castlegar Sunrise Rotary Club has received the Rotary Club of the Year award from Rotary District 5080.
The district covers Southeast British Columbia, Eastern Washington, and Northern Idaho and is comprised of 71 clubs and a total of more than 800 members. The Castlegar Sunrise Club has 38 members.
Three members of the club were also recognized for their achievements.
Alexia Turner received a Lifetime Achievement Award for her many hours of hard work and dedication. She continues to be an integral part of numerous committees and has served as the club's president.
Rhonda Sorenson received a Certificate of Recognition for Service Above Self for her countless hours of service.
Gordon Soukeroff received an Honourable Mention Certificate award for Excellence in Club Newsletters for the informative bulletin he produces each week.
"I am so proud to be a member of this amazing and hardworking club," said club president Gordon Malcolm.
"I would like to offer my congratulations to all who received an award. This was a proud night for our club. I also want to thank everyone who made the club award achievable, and for the hard work our members put in each year to make our club such a success."
