The Castlegar and District Hospital Foundation (CDHF) is looking to recruit members, volunteers and board members.

The foundation is best known for its annual Christmas Light-Up campaign and purchasing equipment for the Castlegar Health Centre and Talarico Place through its fundraising efforts.

In recent years CDHF has purchased a state-of-the-art bedside ultrasound machine for the emergency department, a new ventilator and specialized lab equipment. Their most recent campaign was for a new ECG machine.

CDHF also operates the gift shop at the Castlegar Health Centre.

CDHF manager Linda Areshenkoff says the non-profit is looking for a cross section of people with diverse skill sets and backgrounds who are willing to share their time and ideas in order to help make their community a better place.

This includes everything from board members to volunteers to man information booths at events such as the West Kootenay Trade Show, Spring Fling, Sunfest and the Pass Creek Fall Fair as well as fundraising events such as Light Up and the annual Smile Cookie campaign with Tim Hortons.

The organization's Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on June 25 at 4:30 p.m. in the education room of the Castlegar Health Centre. Interested parties are encouraged to attend the meeting.

If you would like more information on how to become a member, call 250-304-1209. Please leave a message as office hours are limited.
