Abby Cat Daddy is ramping up its fundraising and awareness efforts this June, with events planned around the Fraser Valley.
The feline advocate society is inviting the communities of Abbotsford, Mission and Chilliwack to take part in a month of "impactful, cat-loving events" to support feline welfare programs.
The society currently has about 70 cats and kittens in their care, and runs a trap-neuter-return program. They have a long-term goal of opening a Thrift Store and Adoption Centre in Abbotsford.
There are bottle drives planned in all three communities, a summer 50/50 raffle, and a chance to meet the team and learn more at their Chilliwack Community Market booth on June 28.
The bottle drives take place in Abbotsford between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., in three locations. The first is on June 7 in Ellwood Park in Abbotsford, on June 14 in Centennial Park in Mission, and on June 21 at Watson Glen Park in Chilliwack.
Those taking part can bring their empties in clear or blue bags, or contact Abby Cat Daddy for pickup by volunteers on event days.
The summer 50/50 raffle is already underway, and tickets are $5 each or five for $20, with the draw at the end of June.
Tickets can be purchased at the following link: https://tinyurl.com/acdsumraf
Proceeds from the bottle drives, market booth, and raffle will help fund food, litter, and medical supplies, their trap-neuter-return program and the long-term plan to build their cat adoption centre.

Since first opening in 2022, Abby Cat Daddy has helped approximately 350 cats get adopted, with many others being spayed or neutered.
There is also an ongoing recycling depot program, which invites people to bring their empty bottles to any Return-It Express centres and print off tags for their bags using the Abby Cat Daddy account number 778-655-6833. Doing so will give the bottle deposit money to the feline advocate society.
