Penticton will be among the communities represented next month when Western Canadian minor baseball teams converge in Alberta for a prestigious showcase tournament.

Charlie Mullins of the South Okanagan Minor Baseball Association will play for Team BC's 13U team at the Okotoks Academy Father's Day Classic, set for June 12 to 15.

Mullins was one of 15 players from across the province to make the team.

The tournament will take place at the Seaman Stadium Complex in Okotoks, Alta., and feature 13U teams from across Western Canada.

Mullins is the lone South Okanagan product on Team BC.

In a statement, the BC Minor Baseball Association congratulated those who cracked the roster.

"We see a bright future in the players of BC Minor Baseball," the governing body said in a social post. "Thank you to the coaches, parents and families who have nurtured amazing humans. They're more than just ball players."
