The North Okanagan Reapers scored six unanswered goals from the start of the first period and into the second frame in a Wednesday match-up against the Kamloops Venom, en route to a 12-10 victory.
Zack Casagrande had two goals and four assists, Colton Colmorgen had a hat trick and two assists and Zack Milne scored two goals and three helpers. That trio led the Reapers on the score sheet in the April 16 bout at the Sunbelt Sports Centre in Armstrong.
The Reapers at one point led 9-3 after a six-goal run that ended at the midpoint of the second period. The Venom chipped away at that deficit and then scored two goals in the final four minutes of the game to cut the Reapers' lead to two, but that's as close as they would come.
Shots were 42-40 in favour of the Reapers on the night.
The Reapers have won two games in a row and are tied with the Venom for first place early in the season in the Thompson-Okanagan Junior Lacrosse League. Both teams have four points and a 2-1-0 record through three games.
The Reapers are in action against the Kelowna Kodiaks at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at Kelowna Memorial Arena.
