Castlegar’s Jordon Shupe reigns supreme with teammate Blaze Cloutier capturing third place in the ultra heavyweight division.

Castlegar's Confluence Jiu Jitsu athletes made the trek up to Rossland for the debuting Mountain Mayhem Submission Grappling event on May 3.

Competitors ranging in age from 7-to-47 years old gathered in the Miner’s Hall for a day of fierce Jiu Jitsu matches, thrilling rivalries, and even some good laughs at the tournament organized by Rebecca Verlaan of Rossland.

Castlegar’s squad brought home four gold medals (Mark Macdonald, Jordon Shupe, Eric Moras, and Anatoli Yaremchuk), a pair of silver medals for Kierra Cates, and bronze medals from Jordan Bilinski and Blaze Cloutier.
