Clearwater Canoe Regatta returns Saturday Sept. 10

Are you doing that Regatta thing again because it was really fun and this year I think can we can win the tug of war!

Dear Regatta Guy,

Are you doing that Regatta thing again because it was really fun and this year I have a new girlfriend who I think can really help us win the tug of war!

Sincerely,

Ready to Relay

Dear Ready to Relay,

We like your enthusiasm but have to say we’re a little worried about your choice in girlfriends!  However, we aim to please and this year the Regatta is back and we’re sooo bringing back the tug of war – we can’t wait to meet her!  See you on Sept. 10th and don’t forget, you can pre-register at the District of Clearwater!

Dear Regatta Guy,

I’ve been training really hard; every day for the past two days and I’m exhausted!  How fit do I have to be for this Regatta thing?

Sincerely,

Happy to Watch Wee Fit than BFit

Dear Happy,

If you’re happy with your training, we’re happy.  Why break a sweat when you can break out the chips and dip instead?  It’s the Regatta!  Come as you are – it’s all good fun.  Join in on any of the races – we have canoes, life jackets and everything you need!

Dear Regatta Guy,

I’ve always wanted to run 5 km but so far I’ve just managed to buy the shoes.  With only four weeks to go how am I going to even get out my driveway?  Any tips on how to get ahead?

Sincerely,

Slow Start

Dear Slow Start,

Good news!  We’ve got the Rotary 5 km Run for Fun!  We know … run and fun don’t always go together but at the Regatta, our 5 km run really is fun because running is optional (heck, we won’t even time you!) … you can walk, jog and even bring the dog!  A 5 km is a bucket list item ... set the goal of finishing and feel the pride of “been there, done that”!

Dear Regatta Guy,

My kids can’t wait to Regatta but I’m a little shy around water ... can I just watch and let the kids participate?

Sincerely,

Mom in a Muddle

Dear Mom,

No need to muddle, the Regatta loves EVERYONE especially supportive spectators!   Come on out and cheer on the action!  Arts and crafts for kids, games galore and just wait until you see the challenges!  Our suggestion ... pack a bathing suit just in case ... fun can be quite contagious!

Dear Regatta Guy,

I work in an office where everyone is a bit stuffy and you have to wear nylons.  I’m hoping the Regatta can loosen up the office environment and show us all the wild side of life – am I wrong about this?

Sincerely,

Tired of Control Top

Dear Tired of Control,

Regatta to the Rescue!  You ditch those itchy nylons and come on out and play!  Bring your office and what the heck – challenge the cubicles right next door!  Why wait til the office Christmas party to break out of the box? Get ready for action and adventure on the Canoe Relay Race where teams of eight battle for glory while likely wearing blindfolds!  We promise, by Monday, you’ll all be wearing flip flops and feeling fine!
