Well I'll be darned! It's stick it to the taxpayers time yet again complements of our Vernon City Council.
Taxes recently up for Activity Centre, now we learn another increase in the works for the Cultural Centre shortfall, not to mention the very likely up and coming tax increases as a result of recent cost of living jumps when all those unionized city staff get back to the bargaining table demanding increases that catch up with inflation.
It just doesn't end with this council and I for one am fed up with their arrogance and "let them eat cake" attitude toward taxpayers.
How an elected group of people who purport to represent the best interests of the people while simultaneously being so incredibly tone deaf to the financial reality for so many of those they claim to represent is beyond my comprehension.
Rest assured while folks are counting their pennies trying to decide whether to pay the taxes or feed the kids, the elites at City Hall will be sipping their cocktails over lunch deciding their next "stick it to the taxpayer" move.
And another two years 'til municipal elections..arrgh...I expect we'll all be in the poor house by then.
