In loving memory ~

With the loving support of her family, extended family, friends, and dear friend, Simon, Karen slipped quietly away at Royal Inland hospital at the age of 49. Karen's Cowichan heritage was blessed in ceremony and song guided by an elder and her two sons. Messages were conveyed to Karen from friends and family around the world, as she struggled with the ravages of Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC) and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Her long battle thankfully ended peacefully.

Karen is survived by her husband Marc, her two sons Adrian and Jayhdon, her brothers and sister Jennifer, (Steve), David, (Yaneth), Gerald, Lyle, (Jen). and her parents Brian and Anne. She was loved by her many nieces and nephews, Chloe, Freddy, Emma, Julianna, Luke, Gemma, Jack, Simon and Max.

Karen was born in Duncan B.C. and adopted at age 4 along with her brother Gerald. She attended school in Prince George, Coquitlam and London UK. She graduated from Sprott Shaw college in Burnaby in 1995.

Over the years Karen worked at many jobs in the service industry and her relaxed personality and superb people skills always held her in good stead. Karen settled in Clearwater in 2015 quickly making many friends. She worked at many local businesses and is best remembered for her quick wit, her infectious laugh, relaxed demeanor, and winning smile.

Karen worked many seasons for Clearwater Lake Tours and stood out for her friendly disposition with their many customers.

Clearwater Lake was one of Karen's most treasured places and was a place that brought her great joy and happiness.

The family would especially like to thank the incredible work and dedication by the nurses and doctors who minister to the patients on the ICU at RIH. The family extends their deepest thanks for their compassion and care.

There will be a celebration of life for Karen to be held on July 28th in Clearwater. Final arrangements will be announced.

In lieu of gifts or donations the family is asking that donations be made to Canadian PBC Society or Royal Inland Hospital.
