In loving memory ~
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jerry David Hanna. Jerry passed away on April 10th, 2025, at the age of 75.
Jerry was born on May 13th, 1949, in Eckville, Alberta. At the age of 11, the family moved to Blue River, British Columbia, to build and run a motel. His legacy in Blue River will last for years to come. After meeting the love of his life, Vicky, they started their family in Blue River. They raised three children and ran Hanna's Services, now Hanna's Construction Services. Eventually, they moved to Chase to retire closer to their family.
Jerry was one of the hardest-working people you'd ever meet, often working 7 days a week and always giving help whenever somebody called. He spent years helping others in the Blue River community, acting as President of Legion Branch 213, Fire Chief and Ambulance Chief. He volunteered for over 20 years at TNRD, and loved to play darts. Even after retirement, he never really retired; he just seemed to travel a bit more, going on trips with family to Mexico and all around Canada. Jerry loved to fish and tell jokes, and even if he didn't catch that many fish or would tell the same jokes over and over, he would always get a laugh.
Jerry will be missed greatly by his wife of 53 years Vicky, siblings Tom (Gail) and Nancy (Ken), children Dianna (Brian), Penny (Shaun), and David (Jaylene), grandchildren Devon, Danica, Ava, and Kara, great grandchild Holden, and all of the great friends he met in his exciting life. He is predeceased only by his mother and father, Geneve and Thomas 'Bud' Hanna.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.
