The Board of Directors of the Thompson-Nicola Regional District gives notice that it will hold a Public Hearing in the TNRD Boardroom, 4th Floor - 465 Victoria Street, Kamloops, BC, to consider proposed Bylaw 2879, 2025.
What is proposed Bylaw 2879, 2025?
It sets out numerous “housekeeping” changes to TNRD Zoning Bylaw 2400, including:
- Remove reference to ‘aircraft landing field’ in the AF-1 & RL-1 zones (Federal jurisdiction supersedes local zoning);
- Update s. 4.3.7 regarding RAPR (Riparian Areas Protection Regulation) to align with current Provincial requirements;
- Expand housing types which permit ‘bed & breakfast’ use to include duplex and manufactured home, and clarify a secondary suite cannot be used for a bed & breakfast;
- Define “community hall”;
- Amend the definition of “dwelling unit” to clarify that two kitchens can exist in one dwelling unit;
- Amend section 3.7.2 to make it clear that a temporary dwelling for caregiving purposes (where meeting other conditions) can coincide with one single family dwelling (with or without a secondary suite), or one duplex, or one manufactured home;
- Remove “pet breeding and kennel use” as a permitted accessory use in the AF-1, AF-2, and RL-1 zones; and
- Amend definition of “processing of aggregate materials” to make clear that temporary production of concrete or asphalt is permitted for no longer than six months per year and utilizing only material extracted from the subject parcel(s) and area identified within a Provincially approved Mines Permit.
