RCMP Report: Asleep at the brake!

On Monday, Oct 24, police were alerted to an impaired driver having trouble staying on the road

On Monday, Oct 24, police were alerted to an impaired driver having trouble staying on the road.

Patrols were conducted and the vehicle was located not far from the police station. It was on the road, but not moving.

The officer went up to the driver and found him passed out. The scary part (and it wasn’t Halloween yet), is the vehicle was running and in gear. The passed out driver had his foot on the brake.

Thankfully it didn’t slip off while he was dreaming of ghosts and goblins.

Old tricks at the Old Caboose

The Old Caboose Restaurant ran into a not so old problem in the early morning of Oct. 24, when it was broken into for the second time this year.

Before entering the pub the suspect(s) disarmed the alarm system, giving him all the time in the world to retrieve his stolen goods. Once inside the pub they went to work, stealing valuable goods and money. Before leaving they stole the security footage, rendering it useless for investigation.

Since then, the Caboose has gone to extreme lengths to make sure this doesn’t happen again. This includes installing new state of the art security systems.

Clearwater RCMP is currently investigating the incident with the help of the Kamloops Forensic Identification Team, as several items the suspect touched have been seized.

In the meantime, if anyone knows anything regarding the theft, all information would be appreciated.
