"It's time to announce Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is ready to kick off the popular 2024 annual 50/50 draw campaign on August 5," says DHMHA long time member, Gail Capostinsky.
"The primary purpose of the Auxiliary is to raise funds, and add to the comfort and welfare of patients receiving the services of the Clearwater hospital. We also assist the administration of the hospital and foster good relations between the hospital and the public. The 50/50 draw is something the community looks forward to each year with only 2,000 tickets sold the chances of winning a potential $10,000 are very good."
There are currently 55 active members with the DHMHA. The active group hosts many events including an annual Garden Party the first Sunday in May featuring both live and silent auctions as well as an ‘In house’ raffle as well as operating the Auxiliary Thrift Shop in Vavenby and the Gift Corner within the hospital.
"Proceeds from the 50/50 and all DHMHA hosted fundraising events go towards equipment for health-care in our community," adds Capostinsky. The final draw will take place on Dec. 5, 2024.
DHMHA members will begin selling the 50/50 draw tickets at Buy Low Foods and the Brookfield Shopping Centre over the next few months. Tickets will also be available at the Vavenby Thrift Shop and the Gift Corner gift shop in the hospital.
