Hello parents, guardians, students and staff:
With the arrival of the holiday season we have seen a surge in generosity both at the school and for the school. As mentioned earlier we had donations from both Home Hardware and Buy-Low. This last two weeks have seen further donations to the school from Elsie Sunderman who donated funds towards the purchase of a new fridge, one of our fridges quit working and we have need for more storage for our breakfast program. We also received a donation from our local Credit Union to support our breakfast program. Thank you for your generosity, with our budget shortfalls this year these donations are very impactful as without them we would have to cut more of our programming.
When talking with the student body I often highlight how lucky we are to have the deep support of our community, and that in turn, they should both show gratitude and look to give back. CSS students will be putting together Christmas hampers for the Foodbank as we have heard that the Foodbank has an acute need this year. CSS will also be looking to give back to community by heading out with snow shovels to assist elderly and disabled folks if we get a big snow dump. If a big snow dump arrives please contact the CSS office if you or someone you know could use some help with clearing snow.
Lastly, the CSS PAC is once again putting on the annual holiday luncheon for students on Friday December 20. We will have food packages to send home in support of those who could use some help at home. If your family could use some of this support, please reach out to either myself or whoever you feel comfortable talking with. PAC and CSS are happy to provide the support and want to try and get rid of the stigma of asking for help. Please reach out if we can help.
