Clearwater Humane Society Benefit Gala filled with music and compassion

The Benefit Gala for the Clearwater Humane Society raised over $1900.00 that will go towards care, feeding and veterinarian bills in the valley.

The Benefit Gala for the Clearwater Humane Society (CHS) welcomed approximately 100 guests for an evening of music, food and socializing at the Clearwater Ski Hill lodge on Saturday, January 18.

“It was really fun, great music and even some people travelling to Clearwater from the Shuswap to support us. There is so much interest and support in our wonderful community and beyond with everyone dedicated to helping animals in the North Thompson,” said Maddy Beka Capostinsky executive director for the CHS.

During the evening’s festivities guests were entertained by live music from Trial and Error, Patchwork, Tom Coles and Flower Power. Burgers, fries, and Ben’s signature poutine as well as a full bar and dancing added to the fun.

Beka Capostinsky said the feedback from the gala has been awesome from those who attended.

"It’s really heartwarming! We want to thank everyone who came out to support us and especially Gateway Grill, Tom and Sandy Coles, Ben Bergeron, and Chrystal Augustine along many others who helped to make this such a success," she said. "We’ve raised over $1900.00 that will be put to good use caring for animals and their needs in the valley.”

The Clearwater Humane Society is a not-for-profit animal rescue group and serves the North Thompson Valley. The society’s membership provides foster care, veterinarian emergency transport and follow up, essential pet food and adoption / fostering coordination.
