Youth taken to hospital after being struck by vehicle in Vernon

Police are investigating after a youth was hit by a vehicle in Vernon Tuesday afternoon. 

The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP received a report that a youth had been struck in the 1800 block of 40th Avenue around 4:45 p.m. May 27. 

The driver of the vehicle was identified and spoken to by police, said RCMP media relations officer Const. Chris Terleski. 

The youth was believed to have been riding a scooter at the time and was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

The investigation is continuing.
