Update… Power restored in the North Thompson, north to Blue River

Update: Power restored from Little Fort south to Sun Peaks.

A large-scale power outage is still underway in the North Thompson.

On Sunday (April 14) at approximately 5 p.m., B.C. Hydro reported via their website a transmission circuit failure from Blue River south along the Highway 5 corridor to Sun Peaks.

The estimated time to restore power is slated on their website as 9 p.m.

Listed as a Status 2 outage, this means they will be working on restoring essential services first as a priority. This outage is shown on the provincial B.C. Hydro website map as stretching northwest along Highway 16 from Valemount to just before McBride. It is classified as a transmission circuit failure.
