Saanich police warn public of cougar sighting in Cedar Hill area

A cougar was spotted in the Cedar Hill area this morning, May 23.

The Saanich Police Department says they have received several reports of cougar sightings in the 4200-block of Cedar Hill Road this morning, on Friday, May 23.

Police say officers are currently in the area, attempting to locate the large feline, and the BC Conservation Service has been notified.

Those outside and in the Cedar Hill Road and Cedarglen Road area are asked to remain alert and cautious. Anyone who encounters a cougar should walk away slowly, and call 911 and the BC Conservation Service at 1-877-952-7277.
