Oak Bay police received two calls about "suspicious" persons trespassing in residents’ backyards.
Overnight on July 5, a man was captured on CCTV entering backyards between 2:45 and 5:30 a.m. in the area of Deal Street and Linkleas Avenue. He was described as wearing a blanket and carrying a hockey stick.
Police ramped up patrols in the area following the incident.
At 4 p.m. the following day, a man was observed on a home security system walking onto a property in the 3900 block of Upper Terrace Road.
“The individual walked to the back of the residence, looked through windows and took photos with a cellphone,” Oak Bay police said in a news release. “No attempt was made to enter the home.”
The man was described as Caucasian and approximately 5'10", with a slim build and brown hair greying at the sides. He was wearing shorts and a T-shirt.
Police are asking those with information about these reports to call 250-592-2424 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
