Following a report of a man engaging in "sexually explicit behaviour" near the Willows Beach boardwalk, Oak Bay PD have increased patrols in the area.
At approximately 2:20 p.m. on July 5, police were warned that a man at the popular summer spot had been seen engaging in an "indecent act."
The man is described as in his 30s, with a medium-dark complexion and short black hair shaved on the sides. The suspect was wearing black shorts and a blue T-shirt. He left the beach before police arrived.
"Public spaces such as beaches and parks are meant to be safe and welcoming for everyone," Oak Bay PD said in a news release. "Acts of public indecency are illegal and can result in criminal charges."
