Members of Men's Shed Vernon recently donated a CNC machine to counterparts at the Lumby Men's Shed.

The village men's shed gets a little help from its brothers in the city.

Members of the Men's Shed Vernon recently loaded up a CNC machine and donated to their colleagues at the Lumby Men's Shed.

A CNC machine is a computer-controlled tool that uses software and code to help automate the manufacturing process.

"They have been incredibly supportive and helpful as we establish our shed," said Glenn Bouzak, president of the Lumby Shed. "They've provided us not just with tools but just as important, with knowledge to make our set up easier, so we don't have to reinvent the wheel."

The BC Men's Shed association has more than 70 sheds in the province. All sheds are different but all support men's health, providing a location to enjoy each other's company and learn new skills. And as demonstrated by Vernon's generosity, Men's Sheds support each other to increase their effectiveness for their members and the community where they are located.
