Local North Thompson Valley dog trainer, Jill Hayward, has launched a dog walking challenge with her dog Kole in memory of her mother and sister and is inviting others to support her in her efforts to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society.
"Dog walking is a fun and an amazingly healthy experience for both the human and our canines, and what better way than to put all those steps to work for a good cause as well," Hayward said.
'My dog walking goal is to log at least 50 kilometres with my dog during the month of June, to raise as much as I can for the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of my mom and my sister who were unfortunately both taken by cancer far too early in life. They both loved their dogs and were no strangers to daily dog walking. I hope others will join with me and lend their support as well to this worthwhile cause."
