A recent donation of five IV pumps to to the Fraser Canyon Hospital in Hope is expected to improve patient care.
"We are grateful for the support of the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation," said Kristy Olive, coordinator of general operations at Chilliwack General Hospital and Fraser Canyon Hospital. "Their commitment to improving local healthcare is evident in their continued support of our hospital and our patients. These IV pumps will help us to provide the best possible care to our patients and improve the efficiency of our healthcare teams.”
The pumps were donated by the foundation to help with patients-in-care and the hospital's health care teams. The IV or infusion pumps are used to deliver fluids, medications, and nutrients into a patient's circulatory system at a consistent rate every hour. This saves the medical staff time and ensures that the delivery of these items are manageable and safer for patients.
Founded in April 2000, the foundation supports the Abbotsford Regional Hospital, Chilliwack General Hospital, Mission Memorial Hospital, Fraser Canyon Hospital, and several other regional health centres.
In order to do this, it raises “vital funds and increases awareness to support the advancement of health care in facilities and programs operated, funded, or endorsed by Fraser Health Authority.”
The foundation also forms partnerships with “individuals, local organizations, and businesses to enhance health care services within the Fraser Valley Regional Hospital District.”
