The District of Clearwater (DOC) advised residents on March 27 that James Thackray has moved on from his position as chief administrative officer (CAO) for the area.

The reason given for Thackray leaving the position is that he wishes to be closer to family and pursue new opportunities better aligned with his family situation. In a statement on the district’s website it says, “James shares his sincere best wishes and wants to thank council, staff and residents for the opportunity to serve this beautiful community.”

Director of corporate services for the DOC, Alsid Prime, will be stepping into the position of acting chief administrative officer until a new CAO is appointed.

The website announcement expresses thanks to Thackray for “strategic leadership, hard work and service to the community on important administrative projects.”

For more information residents are asked to contact mayor Merlin Blackwell at the District of Clearwater at: 250-674-2257 or via email: Mblackwell@docbc.ca
