The Delta School District’s international student programs were recently honoured with a prestigious StudyTravel Secondary School Award.

The peer-voted international awards celebrating outstanding secondary education providers and their study travel partners were handed out at the 2025 gala dinner in London, United Kingdom, on Friday, April 25.

DeltaSD's International Student Program was awarded top honours in the High School Board/District in Canada category, beating fellow finalists Burnaby School District, Comox Valley Schools, Greater Victoria School District, Nova Scotia International Student Program, and Rocky Mountain School District.

“Being nominated for the sixth time among so many outstanding programs in Canada was already a thrill, but winning the award is truly an honour," Karen Symonds, director of international student programs at the Delta School District, said in a post on the district's website.

"The international education sector has faced numerous challenges in recent years. This award is a heartening acknowledgment of the dedication and hard work of our team — including staff, teachers, homestay families, and the entire district — in providing life-changing experiences for our students. We are deeply grateful for the award and the unwavering trust and support of our agent partners.”
