Tanglefoot Veterinary Services in Cranbrook has been recognized with two awards from the B.C. Veterinary Technologists Association.
At a recent conference in Kamloops, the B.C. Veterinary Technologists Association named Tanglefoot Veterinary Services as the 2025 Practice of the Year, while Lena Richter, the team's lead Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) was awarded the 2025 Registered Veterinary Technologist of the Year.
Dr. Jasmine Hardy said it was a "great honour to be recognized" as 2025 Practice of the Year.
"We have a really great group of technologists here and that's really important to us, that we encourage their development and utilize them to their fullest and they are a huge part of what makes the clinic tick, so we're very grateful for them and we're lucky to have the ones that we do at the clinic," Dr. Hardy said.
It's the latest accolade for the clinic, which was also recognized as Practice of the Year by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association in 2023.
Awarded as the Registered Veterinary Technologist of the Year, Richter said she was invited to attend a conference earlier in May after finding out she had been nominated.
"It's a huge honour to receive that recognition and I love doing what I do," Richter said. "It's such an amazing team here, I really couldn't imagine a better group of people to work with."
Richter has been with the clinic for the last five years, as pursuing a career in veterinary medicine was a natural pathway after growing up around animals on a hobby farm in McBride.
