Three area schools were placed in a hold and secure pattern Friday afternoon.
Kidston and Coldstream elementary schools have since been released while the local high school remained locked down a little longer
"Kalamalka Secondary is still on a hold and secure, out of an abundance of caution, while police investigate a report," confirmed Vernon School District Supt. Christine Perkins at 2:00 p.m.
Kal was released from the hold and secure by 2:30.
The hold and secure was implemented at 1:25 p.m.
"The procedure is used when there is cause for concern in the community," said Perkins in a letter to families.
"There was no direct threat to the safety and well-being of our students."
