Clearwater hospital ER closes Sept. 17 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

During this time, all other inpatient services will continue as normal at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital.

The emergency department at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital will be closed today (Tuesday) from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m 

Interior Health said the closure is due to limited nurse ability. 

Emergency services will be unavailable during this time. 

Patients are advised they can access care at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops or 100 Mile House District General Hospital in 100 Mile House at this time, noted IH. 

All other inpatient services will continue as normal at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital.          

People in the community who need life-threatening emergency care (i.e., chest pains, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding) should always call 911 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility.

Normally the ER is open 24/7.
