Parksville council invites residents to celebrate the City of Parksville's 80th birthday this June.
"The City of Parksville was incorporated on June 19, 1945, and over the past 80 years, we have grown and changed in so many wonderful ways while keeping our small-town welcoming charm," reads a news release from the city.
The birthday party is set for June 19 at the Atrium of the Parksville Civic and Technology Centre, located at 100 Jensen Ave. E.
Residents can drop-in anytime between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. for birthday cake and refreshments, some music, a chance to share memories of the city’s past and a stroll down memory lane.
Speeches are planned for 4:30 p.m.
