Back above ground: Confined space rescue at UBC Okanagan

Firefighters, paramedics and campus security have staged around an in-ground concrete structure

The man who was stuck in an underground utility vault was rescued after a combined effort from UBCO campus security and the Kelowna Fire Department.

The Kelowna Fire Department has been dispatched to UBC Okanagan for a confined space rescue on the campus.

There are few details, however, firefighters, paramedics and campus security have staged around an in-ground structure near a water fountain in the centre of campus.

Firefighters can been climbing in and out of the structure. It's not known if anyone has been injured.
