A lingerie shop and barber shop near Nanaimo’s downtown waterfront were recent victims of early morning break-and-enters.

According to a Nanaimo RCMP press release, the crimes happened at about 4:40 a.m. on June 9 in the 100 block of Front Street.

"Police attended and found the front door to the lingerie business smashed open, and an impression of a boot on the door," noted the relase.

The barbershop nearby was broken into with a brick found at the entrance.

Small items were taken and both incidents still under investigation, police say.

Anyone who has information about the break-ins is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP detachment non-emergency number at 250-754-2345 and refer to file No. 2025-17450.
